On Where Religion Should Stop

 Many people seem to have a problem with religion.  After talking with them a bit it turns out many of these same people don’t really have a problem with religion, what they have a problem with is religion being imposed upon them.  In my short existence on this bespeckled planet of a multitude of faiths and creeds there seems to be an evolving truth.  Practice, preach if you must, but for heaven sake be quite if i ask.

Tracing the ever present religious jokes highlights evangelicals and Jehovah’s Witnesses, who clearly want to tell you how good their life is and how perfect yours could be if you followed them, except it’s an active recruitment.  Most of us are beyond the active recruitment phase.  Either we are already locked into our particular beliefs or rejecting most as rubbish.

Why did this even come up? Our new favorite fall guy religion: Scientology .   Most of us i’d have to say don’t care about Scientology.  We don’t even know what it stands for except we know that we don’t like a couch jumping Tom Cruise advocating it.   If there was ever a spokesman that should be retired, he is it.  But i am not here to pass judgment on the Cruise, I just have one thing to say for my readers.

Religion should be your own, and stop when you try to make it my own.
