On Parents and Future.

Life Lessons Comments Off on On Parents and Future.

May our children and our children’s children to a thousand generations, continue to enjoy the benefits conferred upon us by a united country,-Abraham Lincoln

On the best of days my parents are difficult.

Amung people i know, there are those that depend on their parents, and often times get along with them. Amung others, there are those that have basically moved on without their parents and generally have a harder time re-interacting with them. Nothing surprising there; but this is not a personal blog, but an editorial one, so let me get to the point. Almost all, are now taking care of their parents and spending more time with or thinking about them than ever before.

Americans are moving away from shifting their parents into old folks homes, and more and more are staying “close to home” or close to family. I’ve tried to find evidence of what is causing this generality but i think it’s just the unstablness of the world at large. Many parents have become defacto baby sitters (it’s a dangerous predatory world out there), as more and more parents look to expand their lives. Many parents, if young enough, are enjoying what their childern are, with their children, be it hot air ballooning or even clubbing.

At the point and time i now exist in, i can’t afford to have my parents worry about their future, so, i worry about their future and tell them not to worry. I do not think i am alone in this aspect of care. I wondered thou, what will happen when i am older. I am encouraged that more people are close to their parents and siblings. We might survive as a caring society yet.
