On Defining A Superpower

Truthiness Comments (1)

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. – Abraham Lincoln

What defines a superpower? What says, after much speculation that America’s power is fading and that we are done for?

Is it the Summer 07 housing crisis that has led to a bank and a january 08 stock crisis?

No.

What defines us, the US, as being still powerful in the world is this:  The BBC dedicated 5 hours on Feb 5th, 07, known as Super-Tuesday.

Let me repeat that.

The BBC dedicated five hours of programing to covering a U.S. election.  A PRIMARY.

I am sure it will be covered over the world, but a primary?  A race where there aren’t even nominees yet.

A Primary.

Tomorrow, we can be called the washed up America, the lost America and even the Fallen America;  On this day, I’m calling us simple:The United States of America.
