There is another old poet whose name I do not now remember who said, “Truth is the daughter of Time.” \u2013Abraham Lincoln<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/o:p>Symbols are our life. <\/span>The cross, battle fields, flames, religious figures. <\/span>All carry meanings and in some places, treating them incorrectly can get you killed, if not worse, just wishing to die. <\/o:p><\/font> <\/font><\/o:p><\/p>\n

One of the popular symbols -The Olympic Torch- I\u2019ve only touched on recently has been under attack. <\/span>The history is not unknown, but now seems to be suddenly relevant in the wake of China Gaining the Olympic games.<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/o:p>The Torch relay, as many would remind us, was started it 1936 to show Nazi white supremacy. if ever there ever someone who’s symbol must be co-opted it’s the Nazis. <\/span>The Olympics stands for everything Hitler didn’t, and let us not forget that in 1936 the Grand Arian Race lost to someone they considered inferior. <\/span>Also let\u2019s not forget they stole every thing. <\/span>Even the Nazi symbol, the dread Swastika was not there own but instead was a symbol of peace and can be found all over Hindu temples.<\/font><\/p>\n

Other symbols have suffered thur the ages, befallen of the whims of prettiness and pettiness, usually as part of the conquering selves. <\/span>There were the Greek Gods, then the Roman Gods, that were -for the most part- a copy of the Greek gods. <\/span>Pagan Symbols turned into Christian symbols. <\/span>Let’s also not forget the holidays themselves. <\/span>All Hallows Eve, to drive away evil spirits by dressing up and frightening them away has changed into something now unrecognizable and STILL pagan!<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font><\/o:p>It\u2019s a sorry state for those who get caught up in this mess of countries and their symbols. <\/span>This should sound familiar. \u201c\u2026We are not against the Athletes They have trained for a long time, they want to get out there, do their best and come home, but \u2026.\u201d <\/span>I end there. You don\u2019t need to hear the rest. <\/span>Just substitute athletes for Soldiers. <\/span>Symbols are politics too. <\/font><\/p>\n

Politics aside, symbols have for too long been turned to evil. It’s about time we did some turning of them to good. <\/span>I say comment, and name some of the bad ones that have become good.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
